About the Talk show with powerful women in Russia
On the 2nd of October Nuffic Neso Russia together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Moscow have organized a “Talk Show: with powerful women in Russia” for the members of the Holland Alumni network in Russia (NANR). The subject of ‘Power Women’ was chosen as one of the most important and often discussed topics nowadays both in Russia and in the Netherlands, so it was about the time to give some attention to the place of women in present society and economy, and to the significant and influential role they play. The talk show was opened by the Ambassador Rene Jones-Bos and moderated by the Russian alumna Maria Kharitonova. Three female professionals in various fields were invited as speakers: Marina Tyshchenko, founder and General Manager of Startup Navigator, former VP of Philips Lighting in Russia; Ksenia Gapchenko, head of international programming at Moskino and Eva Hartog – Skorobogatova, a Dutch journalist and current editor-in-chief of The Moscow Times. The panelists addressed various topics during the talk show and discussion with alumni. They talked about how their upbringing and family values influenced their professional career, how their work environment stimulated them to become the person and professional that they became. Another important issue that was addressed during the evening was a challenge of finding a balance between career and family. It was a big challenge for all speakers, and they were very open about their thoughts and views on the problem. Their openness and readiness to speak about their experiences contributed to the informal and warm atmosphere of the evening. We would like to thank all alumni that joined us that evening!
