All OKP calls for Q3 2020 remain on hold

In our Programme Update of 5 June we lastly reported on the temporary grant stop which was set in place in April by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - our partner and funder.

Through this update we would like to inform you that the publication of new calls will remain on hold for Q3 till further notice and zoom in on the practical consequences.

Why?

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has indicated to make some programme adjustments to create more focus and impact for the remaining programme period. We are in frequent and close contact with the ministry on the desired adjustments and the implications they might have on the Orange Knowledge Programme. The outcome of this process influences the upcoming calls, meaning that calls may or may not take place, or in an adapted way.

What does that mean for Q3?

  • Round 3 - Short Course scholarships - which usually opens on 2 September for applicants remains closed for the moment. All preparatory actions are put on hold, including the upcoming course check in Delta. We are aware of the implications this situation entails, and will prioritise this call after programme adaptations are clear. We trust that the full range of adaptations will become clear in the course of September. We will set up a virtual focus group meeting on a short notice, specifically for short courses to discuss the consequences for institutions
  • Calls for Tailor-made Training (TMT) and Tailor-made Training Plus (TMT+)  and Institutional Collaboration Projects will all remain on hold due to the continued temporary stop. As soon as the process of inventorying the eventual adaptations for these calls is set, publication in the government’s Gazette (Staatscourant) will take place, as well as via our Programme Update. Rest assured that already published calls will continue. Do not hesitate to contact our team in case of any urgent questions.

We realise the impact this temporary stop on publications may have on your organisation and your work which requires flexibility from all sides. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we trust that we will be able to give more clarity over the course of September. We will keep you informed via our Orange Knowledge Programme Updates.

PLEASE NOTE: we trust that you will use the explanation above proactively in communication towards potential applicants.

Warm regards,

The Orange Knowledge Programme Team
