On Monday 18 March the official application for the registration of the Holland Alumni network Lebanon was completed during a special meeting in Beirut.

This initiative first took shape during the Holland Alumni Conference in Beirut on 29 and 30 November 2018 supported by the Mena Scholarship Programme (MSP). During this conference around 40 alumni gathered to discuss the creation of a local alumni network as well as various topics related to education, job creation and employment.

This resulted in a group of 20 Holland Alumni gathering on 18 March in Beirut to make this initiative more formal and sustainable by signing the official application for the establishment of an association.

Nuffic's partnerships & programme developer, Birgitte Vos, also attended the meeting and was impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication to our joint cause. "These alumni are the cornerstone of a motivated and lively community of Holland Alumni in Lebanon which will forge and foster a strong relationship between alumni and the Netherlands and offer a platform for knowledge exchange", says Vos.

The aim of the signatories of the application is to launch the association officially in November during a festive and informative alumni event.
