10.03.2018

Neso Thailand will close its doors on 31 December 2018 after a 10-year run.

Over the course of this period, Dutch higher education institutions have found their way on the Thai education market. In the last 5 years, an average of 160 Thai students a year completed a study programme in the Netherlands.

"We would like to start using the Nesos as outposts of the Dutch knowledge sector. In light of our available funds, we must take a critical look at the performance of the different offices", says Han Dommers, Member of the Board responsible for the Neso offices. The Orange Tulip Scholarship in Thailand will also be discontinued as a result of this decision.

Netherlands Alumni Association Thailand continues
Neso Thailand will handle ongoing activities until 31 December 2018. From 2019 onwards Neso Indonesia will manage the support of the Thai Holland Alumni Network, called NAAT.

What are Nesos?
The Netherlands Education Support Offices are situated in locations that are of strategic importance to Dutch higher education: Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam. These offices have been established with funding from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
