On the occasion of the state visit of Their Majesties the King and Queen of the Netherlands to Indonesia, Holland alumni network Indonesia in great collaboration with Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Tree-Planting movement Indonesia (GTP), and the Climate Smart Generation (GCI), held a movement activity, entitled: Tree Planting: #1NLalumni1Tree (11/03/2020). The program which took place in the courtyard of the CCR building IPB university was attended by the vice minister of Agriculture, Nature, and Food Quality of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr. Jan Kees Goet.

The main goal of this movement is to invite as many as possible of Holland alumni in Indonesia to plant trees, since we do believe, planting billions of trees across the country is one of the biggest and cheapest ways of taking CO2 out of the atmosphere to deal with the climate crisis. As the trees grow, they absorb and store the carbon dioxide emissions that are driving global heating. Said Dito Alif Pratama, alumni officer Nuffi Neso Indonesia .

Ikrom Mustofa, a Wageningen university alumni, Founder of GCI Foundation states: “We are very enthusiastic joining this tree planting activity which also relate to what we have been doing in preserving the nature from the impact of climate change but also reducing the hydro-meteorological disaster risk. GCI Foundation will also keep in touch with many parties, including Nuffic Neso, to spread the positive impacts among society in Indonesia, especially young generation.”
