New programme end date Orange Knowledge Programme
Launched mid-2017, the Orange Knowledge Programme is currently halfway. This means that we are nearing final deadlines for certain instruments like the 2 year Master Programmes. The official closing date of the programme was originally set on 31 July 2022, meaning all grants and subsidies have to be implemented and reported on by that date. However, knowledge institutions are bound by different timeframes. The academic year doesn’t stop on July 31st, and evaluations logically follow only after programmes have ended. A natural wrap up of the entire programme proved to be difficult with this date in mind.Together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs we have worked closely on setting a new end date for the Orange Knowledge Programme: 31 December 2022. This new final deadline affects the calls for grants in 2020, 2021, and 2022.What does this mean for you?Organisations providing Individual scholarships benefit the most of the new end date. Especially the Master programmes with a duration of 18-24 months starting between August and November 2020. In the original set-up, these scholarships would end after the programme and would therefore not be possible to grant. With this new programme deadline, knowledge institutions are able to report after the academic year ends. Master programmes with a duration of 24 months are therefore welcome to participate in the call for grants of April 2020. This will also be the last possibility to apply for grants for the 2 year Master programmes within the Orange Knowledge Programme. Short courses and Master programmes with a maximum duration of 12 months are still eligible up until the very final call in April 2021. There are no further extensions possible.Organisations offering Tailor Made Training (plus) profit from the extension, the new deadline for these instruments is 31 March 2022.For institutional collaboration projects nothing changes. These still have to be completed and reported on by 31 December 2021. This is due to the considerable workload of the required reports and evaluations for all parties involved.Refresher courses with a maximum duration of 12 months can apply until the November 2020 call. If you are planning an alumni activity, please be aware this one-off event has to take place before 30 April 2022.For a full overview on all instruments and reporting requirements see the table below.
