Professional experiences

Planning coordinator and project manager

Municipal Planning Institute , Uruapan - Temporary contract

From April 2019 to September 2019

I was accountable for managing the long term municipal development planning strategies. I worked together with local government officials from the urban affairs office, the planning and public works departments.
I was specifically appointed to develop public participation dynamics such as focus groups, forums, tailored surveys to measure livability, spatial perception and satisfaction, in order to implement an alternative planning approach to the traditional top-down agenda previously adopted.
As a result, we successfully integrated the public opinion including segregated vulnerable communities as an important resource for the medium and long term planning strategies.

Sub-office project planner of public works department

Ministry of Communications and Public Works , Morelia - Permanent contract

From January 2016 to July 2016

I joined the public works department during the redevelopment and revitalization of marginalized and poorly served neighborhoods period.
I contributed to the analysis and selection of the specific neighborhoods to be prioritized depending on various factors such as lack of public open spaces, abandoned/sub-utilized areas, and not enough public amenities in general.
One of the main challenges at this local office was the financial uncertainty that comes naturally as a result of the government instability. That is why, the management of time and economic resources was crucial to successfully deliver projects ready to execute.

Assistant project manager

Constructora y Urbanizadora San Carlos , Morelia

From August 2015 to November 2015

During my bachelor’s senior year, I managed to perform a part-time job at a construction company that developed remodeling of historical buildings for the private sector. My agenda consisted mainly on supervising on-site programmed activities, elaborating and reviewing technical sketches and weekly reports.
An important complementary duty I had responsibility on was to meet with the project clients to discuss the overall development, modifications, potential delays, as well as integrating their latest comments and requests for further discussion with the board.
