Fedor Van Rijn

English Language Trainer in Mexico City

Summary

DELTA-qualified English language trainer with over 10 years of experience. For the last few years, I have provided language training for the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) as well as other international organizations in Santiago de Chile and Mexico City. Before moving to Chile, I did business language consulting in Italy and Germany. Over the course of my career, I have also worked as an editor, proofreader and occasionally as a translator to get reports and academic articles ready for publication. At the moment, I reside in Mexico City in order to further my career and find new challenges. I am available for English language courses in Centro, Zona Rosa, Polanco, Lomas, La Condesa and Roma as well as online.

Having started out with a Master of Arts degree in Latin & Ancient Greek, I have a substantial grounding in grammar and a good intuition regarding the structures of languages. With my teacher training at Cambridge English and my experience, I provide high-level language courses tailored to individual needs and focused on communicative competence. As a native Dutch speaker, I am also able to teach Dutch. in addition, my knowledge of Spanish, German, Italian and French gives me extensive insight into the issues speakers of Romance and Germanic languages might encounter when acquiring and improving their English.

Finally, I published my first novel called 'The Little Lord of Life and Death', an English-language reworking of the myth of Venus and Adonis as a coming-of-age novel, in 2015.
