I'm Suman, working for better improvement of the water sector in Bangladesh. I'm experienced and skilled in IWRM and water governance- through the field and academic journey. Passionate to use these soft skills to create a new era in the most challenges water sector.
As a Bachelor and Masters of Geology and Mining, majoring Water Resource Development and Management (Water Management and Irrigation, Groundwater Basin Modeling), Geo-Hazards, Disaster and Environmental Management, I have completed a variety of research projects in the field. I have developed a comprehensive understanding of geological mapping and the collection of field data, coupled with the ability to interpret this data and write detailed reports. This has fostered a keen interest in all aspects of higher studies.
Recently I’ve completed a short course on Multilevel Water Governance with the international group of participants at The Hague Academy for Local Governance, Hague, The Netherlands. Here I discussed international best practices and water governance tools, under the guidance of leading international experts and practitioners. I’ve got an interesting and fun learning experience.
Now I’m working for DASCOH Foundation, a national NGO in Bangladesh, implementing Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) Project in water stress in Barind area as a Monitoring and ICT Officer since June 2015. We are pioneer of implementing IWRM approach in Bangladesh. I have supervised three important project as IWRM activities: i) Web based water resource mapping of IWRM project area, ii) Groundwater Modeling in Badhair Union, Tanore, Rajshahi (not completed) and iii) Monitoring well installation and regular water level monitoring. I’ve conducted some training on these activities.
My skills include a gd working knowledge of application software such as Kobo Toolbox, ArcGIS, Delft3D, HEC-RAS, and MapInfo. I have good command on Python, Matlab, HTML, CSS, JAVA, and Markdown.
I work well as a member of a team but am also confident in assuming responsibility for tasks autonomously. Through my previous work in hospitality, I have gained excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to solve problems and handle challenging situations.
