"Who cares? Redeveloping our neighborhoods", a lecture by Floris Alkemade, Dutch Chief Government Architect

Floris Alkemade has been the Chief Government Architect of the Netherlands since 2015. The Chief Government Architect advises the Minister of Internal affairs and the Central Government Real Estate Agency.

During the lecture Floris Alkemade explains his vision on the liveable city and solving social problems through redevelopment of residential quarters. He will  talk about how architects tackle social issues and why improvement in the live quality of the most vulnerable people creates a better background for everyone. Using his experience as an example, he will explain the principles for developing legislative policies regarding housing and learning the opinions of city councils, healthcare authorities and local residents, and how to teach the architects to commit themselves to addressing problems such as poverty and loneliness.

The event will be held with the support of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Russia.
