Usually there is a negative idea about viruses specially, during COVID -19 times. However, most of them that we find on daily basis are not harmful to humans. Current research on synthetic biology and bio nanotechnology use viruses in the biomedicine, biotechnology, and in energy fields.

PhD in Biotechnology Armando Hernández (Wageningen University & Research) will talk give us all this really interesting information.

Armando’s laboratory is working on new versions of the viruses so they can be used in a safety and beneficial way in genetics and vaccines development, just to mention a few applications. In the future, it is hoped that viruses will become an ally to fight diseases, isn't it fascinating?
