Invitation to celebrate Leidens Ontzet in Tokyo

The registration deadline has expired.

Do you remember the celebration at 3 October during your study time in Leiden?

Whether it’s the culinary delights of hutspot (hotchpot), herring and white bread, the celebration of local identity by parades and the biggest Dutch carnival north of the Rhine, or just the opportunity of boozing at street bars deep into the night, while dancing to the tunes of local luminaries such as ‘Rubber Robbie’.

One thing is certain: each year on 2 and 3 October, Leiden draws huge crowds to celebrate the relief of the city in 1574 – Leiden’s Ontzet.
The 3 October Vereeniging and the Alumni Office of Leiden University want to celebrate Leiden's Ontzet with Leiden alumni all over the world. And since it will be difficult to get you all to Leiden on the 3rd of October, we'll send the herring to you!
Therefore we are happy to invite you to a 3 October celebration in your own town!

We're very pleased that The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in your country will host the herring meeting in Tokyo for you and your fellow Leiden alumni.

Please register below for this event, so the Dutch embassy is able to send you an official invitation.
Please RSVP  by  20 September 2018.
