Hij komt, hij komt, de lieve, goede Sint!
Nuffic Neso Russia warmly invites you to attend our Sinterklaas celebration on Sunday, 15 December at 14.30.
Sinterklaas and his helpers Petes couldn't miss the chance to come back to Russia! On December 15, they will arrive from the Netherlands to greet all guests, listen to songs and poems, play special games and, of course, hand out lovely presents!
We will show you the Dutch comedy musical film “Ja zuster, nee zuster”, based on the original story by a famous Dutch writer Annie M.G. Schmidt. The story happens in the guest-house of nurse Klivia in one of the Dutch towns. The open communal lifestyle of cheerful inhabitants of the guest-house is contrasted with the life of a grumpy neighbour Mr. Boordevol, who has spent ages looking for reasons to shut the guest-house. Will they manage to reach a compromise?
We will start our evening with welcome drinks. After the movie, guests will be treated to some tasty appetizers. You will also have a chance to chat and take a photo with Sinterklaas himself!
Would you like to immerse into Dutch traditions? Sinterklaas has also prepared a poetry competition for you! The winners will receive special Dutch prizes. Read more about it below.
Please note that, due to enormous popularity, we have to limit the number of participants this year, so please register to let us know you are coming!

Sinterklaas poem competition
One tradition associated with Sinterklaas celebrations is the writing of a Sinterklaas poem. This poem “should” be kind in tone, but there is room to poke fun at the individual’s bad habits or character quirks. And, yes, your poem must rhyme. The typical rhyming scheme of a Sinterklaas poem is A, A, B, B.
To participate in the competition you should:1. Write a Sinterklaas poem and send it to email@example.com with “Sinterklaas poem competition” as a subject no later than on 12 December.
- It should contain the following words: Nuffic Neso Russia, Sinterklaas, Piet
- The poem can be written in Russian, Dutch or English (Sinterklaas is very good at languages)
2. Like our page on Facebook
3. Be registered on the Holland Alumni website.
The winner will be announced by Sinterklaas himself during our celebration!
The event will take place on Sunday December 15 in “Zvezda” cinema, ulitsa Zemlyanoy Val, 18/22, Moscow (Kurskaya metro station)
We are very much looking forward to seeing you!
