On 10 and 11 July 2017, Wageningen University and Research centre (WUR) is organising an alumni event in Rionegro, Colombia, in collaboration with the Universidad Católica De Oriente (UCO), La Corporación Colombiana de Investigación Agropecuaria (CORPOICA) and Deliflor BV, and is funded by Nuffic. The event is focused on smart technology in food and horticulture production for improved food security.
The event aims at strenghtening the link between Nuffic, NFP-alumni, WUR plant breeding, the relevant research institutes, universities and Dutch private sectors/organizations, especially in the area of sustainable food production and horticulture sectors. Furthermore, it enables the participants to share knowledge and upgrade their skills of the existing and new technology, to stimulate networking and sharing experience between the participating partners. It also focuses on exploring possibilities and facilitating for opportunities among the alumni for collaboration with the Dutch private sectors for developing sustainable and responsible production system.
The event is aimed at NFP alumni from Colombia and Peru, involved and interested in food security and who followed previous courses in plant sciences (Plant Breeding, Biotechnology, Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant protection, horticulture and post harvesting) at the level BSc, M.Sc. and PhD. Equal participation of men and women in the event is highly desired.
Travel and lodging costs for the selected alumni participants will be compensated. Please note that the spoken language during the event will be Spanish. For English speaking persons, Spanish translation will be made available if required.

Registration deadline is 22nd of May 2017. Selected participants will be notified at the beginning of June 2017.
