When talent meets opportunity.

Alumni in Mexico

Sometimes, studying abroad seems to be difficult to achieve. Today, we want to tell a success story of a Mexican Student and Dutch alumna who proved that in order to fulfil your academic goals you need to commit and work hard.

During Nuffic Neso Mexico visit to the Hague, we had the chance to meet Liliana Vargas who currently lives in the Netherlands. Liliana studied her bachelor’s degree in Geophysics in Mexico at UNAM. Then, she continued with her master’s studies in Applied Geophysics in a joined programme at TU DELFT (Holland), ETH Zurich (Switzerland) and RWH Aachen (Germany).

After finishing her MSc studies, Liliana successfully completed a PhD in Petroleum Geology at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland).

Liliana worked from 2004 to 2019 at the Mexican Petroleum Institute and she is currently looking for job opportunities in the Netherlands which are promising due to her talent and the high-quality education she already holds.

We wanted to share her story because this is one of many that started with the idea of looking for opportunities outside our borders and we are very happy to learn that she is doing very well after accepting the study abroad challenge.

Success starts when you dare to dream!

How did your Study in Holland journey start? Do you have a successful story that you would like to share with us? If so, please send it
