Water professionals from around the world have gathered to seek progress on crucial water issues during the fifth Amsterdam International Water Week (AIWW) Conference. Delegates were inspired by a line-up of high-profile keynote speakers, and an interactive Integrated Leaders Forum helped to shape the thinking of city, utility and industry representatives.

Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations, and leader of the Global Commission on Adaptation, helped set the tone for the Conference in a special video message, highlighting the need for action on climate change.

More details about the Conference will be released on the AIWW Website in the coming days. In the meantime, read this review of the first day and the press release issued after the Closing Ceremony to get an impression of the achieved outcomes, including four new Amsterdam Agreements!
