On the 23rd and 24th of May 2017, the NFP-CDI Wageningen University Alumni Event was successfully held at Erasmus Huis, Jakarta, Indonesia. Organised by Nuffic and Wageningen UR Centre for Development Innovation (WUR CDI), the two-day event connected NFP alumni with relevant educational institutions, researchers, organisations, and companies.

The first day of the event focused on alumni engagement, where WUR-CDI alumni got to know each other through working groups and developing vlogs. It was attended by 30 alumni from across Indonesia, from Aceh in the northwest to Papua in the east, where they interacted with each other, expanded their networks, and shared their experience in their respective fields. They also explored opportunities in cooperating with alumni networks, namely Holland Alumni Network, WUR Alumni Connect, and AgriProFocus Indonesia.

A thematic seminar was held on the second day, where alumni was joined by representatives from agricultural-related educational institutions, organisations, and companies, and those interested in the topic. The theme for the seminar was "Seeds for Business and Business for Seeds", and it focused on improving linkages between seed and commodity value chains.

The seminar was opened by the Head of Agriculture Department of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Ms. Lucie Wassink, followed presentations from Ted Schrader (CDI Wageningen), Joni Murti Mulyo Aji (Jember University), Judith Jacobs (CDI Wageningen), Asep Harpenas and Fathku Rohman (East West Seed Indonesia), Edwin Saragih (Yayasan Bina Tani Sejahtera), and Abd. Rohim El-Mukromy (NATC).

Apart from the presentations there was also a gallery walk, where alumni presented their rich pictures on various agricultural-related study cases in their areas. A selected number of these rich pictures became the bases of discussions and presentations for the day.
