Welcome back reception is an annual event organized by Neso office in Vietnam. This year, the events were organized in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It was a great success with many guests from different parties arrived.

Tulip Riding Day

In cooperation with the Holland Alumni board in Vietnam, we had a riding tour around West Lake in Hanoi before ending up at a cozy restaurant for welcome back lunch. We also welcomed local staff from the Dutch embassy in Hanoi together with 2 prospective students. The alumni raised up many ideas for activities in 2016 including a thematic talk show about climate change and water issues in Vietnam.

The event marked a new triple helix formation in alumni cooperation: EP-Nuffic, Diplomatic mission and Dutch businesses in local country. 40 alumni from 10 different Dutch institutes attended the event together with the Consul of The Dutch Consulate General, Head of Promotion Department of EP-Nuffic and Board members of Dutch Business Association in Vietnam.

All 3 parties emphasized the importance of Holland alumni in many aspects. Ms Kenza Tarqaat, Consul of the Consulate General said the Holland alumni are the ambassadors of not only the third best higher education in the world but also the Holland national image.

The Dutch businesses also enjoyed being connected with alumni. They are very interested in the “Mentoring Programme” introduced by the Holland alumni board. The programme aims to create a professional network where Holland alumni in Vietnam can earn benefits from being mentored by Dutch highly experienced professionals in Vietnam.
