Why I started my career in the Netherlands
I came to the Netherlands to get a world class education. Once I was here I realized Eindhoven and its surroundings is a region with one of the most active industries in my field. It only made sense to stay.
A typical work week
A team meeting on Mondays and shorter follow up
meetings during the week. The rest of the time I spend actually working on the
projects. I get a lot of freedom in terms of working hours and being quite of
an early bird, I typically start at 7:00 so I can go home early.
At work I get to design and implement the software for one of the machines that drives the semiconductor industry worldwide. I doesn’t get much cooler than that.
What I like about the Dutch work mentality
Easy going and nonsense-free. The simplest solution is usually preferred.
My career advice to you
Start looking for jobs in time. Even though the procedures are quite simple they can take longer than you might expect. This is particularly important if you’re a student since your living expenses will increase significatively once you graduate.
