I’ve always dreamed of studying abroad, and when I was looking into universities in the Netherlands, I discovered I could have a visa to look for a job after my studies. Why not? I always wanted to work among international professionals, so this was an excellent chance.
I did my best and my search year was a success! I am grateful for all the opportunities I had, they were essential for my career growth. I love living and working in the Netherlands. Can’t wait to pursue my next dreams! ;)
I’m usually creating digital content for internal communications, which includes lots of projects with colleagues from around the world! I work with different business within healthcare, so I lead and support projects for different products and solutions. I’m constantly in touch with employees and different stakeholders to find out more about new ideas and innovations. I also manage several digital channels, such as websites, newsletters and intranet (among other things!).
- Master’s thesis about Massive Open Online Courses and E-Learning (2013).
- Social media plan for a Dutch start-up (2014).
- Philips’ #MakeLifeBetter global campaign (2016).
What I like about the Dutch work mentality
I love that most people have an open, international and diplomatic mind-set. Flexibility is also a highlight, as the focus of the work is quality, not quantity. I also find it amazing that everyone can have a voice and share an idea, regardless of their position.
Start networking at university and share your passions with your classmates and professors. Join events, seminars, study groups and share your knowledge on social media.
When you find a job, don’t settle: keep learning with enthusiasm! Face obstacles with ethics, professionalism and always trust yourself.
